What is the interview process like?
The interview process follows three stages:
1. Initial Phone Interview:
The recruitment process begins with a phone interview to understand your qualifications and aspirations better. This initial conversation allows us to get to know you and determine if your skills align with the position you’re applying for.
2. Face-to-Face Interview with Hiring Manager:
If successful in the initial phone interview, you will be invited for a face-to-face interview with the hiring manager. This stage offers a deeper dive into your experience and how you might fit into our team. It’s also your opportunity to ask any questions about the role and the company.
3. Second Face-to-Face Meeting with Director:
For candidates who progress beyond the first face-to-face interview, a second meeting with the Director, Guy Whistler, will be scheduled. This interview is crucial as it focuses on strategic fit within the company. Additionally, you may be required to complete a technical test to demonstrate your capabilities in a real-world scenario.
What is the onboarding process for IT helpdesk roles?
At Cubit, we ensure new helpdesk team members are set up for success with a comprehensive onboarding process. Each new hire is paired with a buddy for guidance, starting with a welcome lunch to foster connections.
Personalised Training:
New hires receive tailored training to build skills and knowledge, from security software to understanding client needs. We encourage staff to pursue certifications like CompTIA Network+ to stay at the forefront of IT developments.
Gradual Immersion:
New team members begin with simpler tasks and progressively handle more complex support, with their buddy and team always available for support. We foster a collaborative environment, where everyone lends a hand.
Onsite Experience & Social Activities:
Onsite visits provide valuable hands-on experience, and regular social events help build team bonds. Continuous learning is key, with weekly training sessions to keep skills sharp.

How do you support professional development?
We support professional growth through our Personal Development Planning Scheme. The process has three stages:
- Preparation: You and your manager independently assess your learning needs.
- Discussion: Together, you agree on a personalised development plan.
- Monitor & Review: Progress is reviewed throughout the year to ensure ongoing growth.
This ensures you develop the skills and knowledge needed to excel in your role.
What is your process for receiving feedback from staff?
We value open communication and regularly seek feedback to improve our workplace. We have several channels for staff to share their thoughts:
• Annual Staff Survey: Once a year, we conduct a comprehensive survey to gather insights on employee satisfaction and areas for improvement.
• Engage 365: Our regular check-in tool (formerly known as Weekly 10) allows employees to provide ongoing feedback and raise any concerns throughout the year.
